When it comes to product shots, the lighting is everything for me. I started doing product photography with objects that were mostly glass. This meant that the reflections were next to impossible to eliminate from the image and there would always be some “flaw” to the object. But, through years of trial and error, I progressed and wound up obtaining an acute understanding of how lighting works especially when it comes to reflections and shadows.
